【杨澜TED英语演讲稿】Good morning, everyone.
It’s a great honor to be here today. I’ve always believed that the most powerful way to learn about the world is through conversation — not just with people from different countries, but also with people who have different experiences, different perspectives, and different ways of thinking.
I remember when I first started my career in television, I was very focused on what I could do — how to present, how to ask questions, how to make the show interesting. But over time, I realized that the real power of communication lies not in what you say, but in what you listen to.
Listening is not just about hearing words. It’s about understanding the emotions behind them, the stories they carry, and the truths they reveal. When we truly listen, we open ourselves up to new ideas, new cultures, and new possibilities.
One of the most memorable moments in my career was when I had the chance to interview someone who had lived through a very difficult period in history. As we spoke, I noticed that her voice wasn’t just telling a story — it was carrying the weight of experience, of loss, of hope. And in that moment, I realized that the purpose of storytelling is not just to inform, but to connect.
In our fast-paced, technology-driven world, we are constantly bombarded with information. But what we often miss is the human connection that comes from genuine dialogue. We need more conversations that go beyond surface-level exchanges and delve into the deeper meanings of life, of culture, and of identity.
That’s why I believe in the power of TED Talks. They are not just about sharing knowledge; they are about sparking curiosity, inspiring change, and building bridges between people from all walks of life.
So, as we continue to explore the world through language, through stories, and through conversation, let us remember that the most valuable thing we can offer is our attention — the willingness to listen, to understand, and to learn from one another.
Thank you.
